Mercian was started in the UK in 1974, so over nearly 50 years we have been developing, designing and sourcing products from across the world. We pride ourselves that people from the Mercian ‘team’ have actually been visiting factories and production facilities across the globe on a regular basis to ensure that our equipment comes from high-quality sources, using the best materials with recognised levels of employee / worker support.
This has given us relationships and friendships with many of the suppliers in the most widely recognised of hockey equipment hot-spots, Jalandhar in India and Sialkot in Pakistan. It’s something we have always believed in, the power of relationships, people working with people and those long-term associations give us confidence in the quality control that relates to the products that we bring to market. The constant visits to factories also means that the quality of the raw materials is monitored and regulated so we can combine exceptional workmanship with superb materials to create extremely high quality equipment.
All of this history, philosophy and experience adds up the the ‘Win before you play’ concept. We embrace the principles of participation and enjoyment but we also relish competition and performance.
